Fundraising Dinner - Shaping the Future

On Erev Rosh Chodesh Iyar, Gateshead Yeshiva hosted an intimate fundraising dinner in London, bringing together Rabbonim, alumni, supporters, and friends for an evening that highlighted the enduring strength of the Yeshiva and the close kesher shared by all those connected to it.

The event opened with heartfelt words from R’ Shaul Bodner, who spoke about the Yeshiva’s far-reaching impact — not only on its talmidim, but on their families and communities. He emphasised that supporting the Yeshiva is not merely an act of gratitude, but a shared achrayus — a responsibility that rests on all those whose lives have been shaped by its clarity and mesorah-driven approach.

A powerful video was shown during the evening, offering a clear and uplifting picture of where the Yeshiva stands today. It highlighted the leadership of a younger generation of Rabbonim, that have joined the Yeshiva faculty in recent years.  The strong kesher with each talmid, the support both in and outside the shiurim and the Beis Hamedrash and the ongoing commitment to the values and standards that have defined Gateshead Yeshiva throughout the decades. The message was clear: the Yeshiva is not simply continuing — it is shaping the future with strength and purpose.

The guest address was delivered by a staunch alumnus Rav Moshe Dovid Perelman, Rav of Zichron Moshe Shul and Rosh Kollel Baalei Batim in Zurich. Rav Perelman spoke with insight and appreciation about the unique role the Yeshiva continues to play in the Torah world and the chinuch in our generation . He highlighted its stability, its clarity, and the kind of Talmid it produces — grounded, serious, and deeply committed to a life of Torah. His words resonated strongly with the many alumni and supporters in the room.

Musical highlights throughout the evening were led by Chazan R’ Yisroel Adler from Eretz Yisroel. His warm and stirring vocals added greatly to the uplifting atmosphere, but it was his emotionally charged grammen that left a particularly strong impression. Drawing on familiar tunes from Yeshiva days, he delivered a heartfelt message about collective responsibility, urging the crowd to recognise the opportunity and obligation to step up and support the Yeshiva’s ongoing work. It was moving, memorable, and perfectly captured the ruach of the evening.

The pledge campaign, led by R’ Aryeh Melinek, was met with a generous and enthusiastic response. The outpouring of support was not only financial — it was emotional, personal, and proud. Attendees understood that they weren’t just giving to a cause; they were standing with their Yeshiva and collectively helping to alleviate the financial burden of the Rosh Yeshiva and Hanholoh.

The climax of the evening was the keynote address delivered by the Rosh HaYeshiva, HoRav Avrohom Gurwicz Shlita.  Delivered to a spellbound audience, the Rosh HaYeshiva spoke on the theme of Tikkun Hamidos during the days of the Omer.  His passionate Divrei Chizuk made their mark on the captive listeners and ensured that the attendees left the event uplifted and inspired to maintain and renew their connection and commitment to the Yeshiva.

Thanks are due to the dedicated alumni committee, whose tireless work b’H facilitated the event’s success.
