The Rosh HaYeshiva, Rav Avrohom shlit’a joined the unprecedented visit of the six
Gedolim to London in Tammuz to raise funds for Eretz Yisrael’s beleaguered Yeshivos.
Rav Dov Landau, Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, Rav Don Segal, Rav Yaakov Hillel, the
Rachmastrivke Rebbe, and Rav Dovid Cohen, made the once-in-a-generation trip.
Rav Avrohom shlit’a opened and his theme was based on a debate between two Rebbes, if to
precede ‘Eloky Neshama to Birkas Hatorah in the morning, to thank and appreciate a new day of life in this world to devote to Torah. The other opinion is that without Torah, life has no
significance and no purpose and one recites Birkas Hatorah first, the Rosh Yeshiva elaborate on this message that life without Torah has no meaning, endorsing the mission to support our
Torah devoted brethren in Eretz Yisroel.
Despite the hour and the strain of the journey, the Rosh Yeshiva travelled down and back to
Gateshead directly from the gathering, having said “If my presence will in any way
assist the struggling avreichim in Eretz Yisrael, it is my duty to attend.”
